I like slow, easy Saturdays. I got up early, made some coffee, checked some feeds, and played some video games.
After watching an absurdly long video essay about Fallout: New Vegas yesterday (no, seriously, it was around eight hours), I'm in the mood to play that game again. Turns out, I still have the save file from an Xbox play-through I completed about this time last year, so rather than starting again, I'm going to pick up from there and clean up any quests I didn't finish. I was using a really fun unarmed and melee build, which had enemies ragdolling all over the place. I'm looking forward to going back to it!
I'm also playing Psychonauts 2, which I'm really enjoying. I love how the game looks, and it also has this really jazzy, spy-themed soundtrack that feels like it has some "Monsters, Inc." Randy Newman vibes going on. It's perfect!
I also picked up Batman: Return to Arkham, which is a remaster of the first and second Arkham games. It's been a long time since I played that first game, so I'm excited to go back to it. Games are still using Arkham Asylum's combat model today, most notably things like Spider-Man and Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, so it'll be interesting to see how the OG holds up.
In a little bit, I'm going to pick up Rachael and have lunch at the new Tim Hortons that just opened up nearby. The chain only just started opening up in England, so we're gonna see what it's like. My money's on the pancakes and coffee!
